>> SCHEDULE OF TALKS
TEN is a gathering of the clan
It’s been a decade since smallboatbigsea was launched in Manly, not long after similar communities like Plunge, Solace and Glebe Café Church were founded, and around the time the Forge Mission Training Network kicked off. Frost and Hirsch’s The Shaping of Things to Come was published shortly after. It was an exciting time for emerging missional projects in Australia.
Now, it’s time to call the clan together, to celebrate the energy, the innovation and the experimentation of this movement.
International speakers, Dan Kimball (from Vintage Faith church in Santa Cruz, and author of The Emerging Church, They like Jesus But Not The Church, and the forthcoming Adventures in Churchland) and Ed Stetzer (from Lifeway Research in Atlanta and author of Lost and Found and Transformational Church).
TEN will feature a fast-paced and eclectic mix of presentations by a variety of people associated with smallboatbigsea or those who have inspired our journey. Presentations will be of three kinds:
Keynote presentations (40 mins including Q&A) by Kimball, Stetzer and Frost
10-min talks – fast-paced presentations by thinkers, artists, musicians, poets etc
10 slides in 3 minutes – super-speedy talks in which the presenter gets to pitch a thought or idea using ten powerpoint slides in no more than 3 minutes
Confirmed interstate presenters include Tim Hein (CitySoul, Adelaide) and Olivia MacLean (Solace, Melbourne). Other presenters include James Scott (ex-GROK), Elizabeth Scott, Huw Luscombe and Jon Owen (UNOH).
Schedule of talks here.
So clear the whole weekend and get ready for a great time of learning, laughing, celebrating and being inspired.
